Text:  Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

ADDRESSING THE SAVED

Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

IN CHRIST

Romans 12:4-5  For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:  5  So we, being [the] many (who have been called unto his kingdom and glory), are one body (of many) in Christ, and every one members one of another.

NO CONDEMNATION NOW

Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

THERE WILL BE CONDEMNATION

Hebrews 10:30c-31  . . . The Lord shall judge his people.  31  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

THEREFORE

Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

STRUGGLE WITH EVIL

Romans 7:19-22  For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.  20  Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.  21  I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.  22  For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

 STRUGGLE WITH SIN

Romans 7:24-25  O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?  25  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

VICTORY THROUGH CHRIST

1 Corinthians 15:57  But thanks be to God, which giveth [present active participle, (now, not future)] us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

NOW

Romans 8:1  There is therefore now [present, v. 18; primary particle of present time] no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

PRESENT, NOW

Romans 8:18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present [now, primary particle of present time] time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

NO

Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no [emphatic ‘no’ in compound, “not even one”] condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

NOTHING

1 Timothy 6:7  For we brought nothing [not even one thing] into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing [part of the compound] out.

CONDEMNATION (only 3 times)

Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

SENTENCE OF JUDGMENT

Romans 5:16  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

SENTENCE UPON ALL MEN

Romans 5:18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; (the consequences of sin) even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

CONDEMNATION

Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

JUDGMENT

Hebrews 10:30  . . . The Lord shall judge his people.

JUDGMENT SEAT

2 Corinthians 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive (our commendation or condemnation) the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

TO RECEIVED FOR . . .

Colossians 3:23-25  And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  24  Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.  25  But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

REWARD OR LOSS

1 Corinthians 3:13-15  Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.  14  If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  15  If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

CHRIST IS A PRIEST NOT A JUDGE

Romans 8:34  Who is he that condemneth [present active]? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen (high priest and not a judge) again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession [present active] for us.

JUDGE OURSELVES

1 Corinthians 11:31-32  For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.  32  But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

JUDGING OURSELVES

1 John 1:7-2:1  But if we walk in the light (the light judges our walk), as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.  8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  9  If we confess our sins (admitting guilt), he is faithful and just to forgive (promise of pardon) us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  10  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.  2:1  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

JUDGED BUT NOT CONDEMNED

Hebrews 12:5-7  And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:  6  For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.  7  If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

AS MANY AS I LOVE

Revelation 3:19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
