Text: Nehemiah 9:7  "Thou art the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;"

ABRAHAM BLESSED

Genesis 12:3  "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."

BLESSED ISAAC AND JACOB

Psalms 105:9-11  "Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; 10. And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant: 11. Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:"

ISAAC BLESSED

Genesis 21:10  "Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac."

ISHMAEL MOCKING

Genesis 21:9  "And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking."

ISHMAEL AGAINST EVERY MAN

Genesis 16:11-12  "And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. 12. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren."

ISHMAEL’S INHERITANCE

Genesis 21:14  “And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.”

ISAAC’S INHERITANCE

Genesis 25:5  "And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac."

THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM

Genesis 28:1, 3-4  "And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, . . . . 3. And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; 4. And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.”

JACOB CHOSEN

Romans 9:12-13  "It was said unto her, The elder (Esau) shall serve the younger (Jacob). 13. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated."

ESAU HATED JACOB

Genesis 27:41  "And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob."

DESCENDANT OF ESAU

Genesis 36:12  "And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau's wife."

ISRAEL’S ENEMY

Exodus 17:8  "Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim."

WITH THE ROD OF GOD

Exodus 17:9  "And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand."

PREVAILED BY PRAYER

Exodus 17:11-12  "And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12. But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun."

REMEMBER AMALEK

Deuteronomy 25:17-19  "Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; 18. How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God. 19. Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it."

THEY HATED HIM

John 15:18-20  "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also."

THEY SOUGHT TO DESTROY HIM

Luke 19:47  "And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,"

FOR ENVY

Mark 15:10  "For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy."

HIS CRIME

Luke 23:38  "And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS."

AN HOLY NATION

Exodus 19:5-6  "Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6. And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel."

A FRUITFUL NATION

Matthew 21:43  "Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof."

CORNELIUS AND HIS HOUSE

Acts 15:14  "Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name."

GENTILE ROYALTY

1 Peter 2:9  "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"

BLESSING OF THE ELECT

Ephesians 1:3-5  "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4. According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5. Having predestinated us unto the adoption (to place us above others) of children (sons) by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,"

CHOSEN OF GOD

1 Thessalonians 1:4  "Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God."

PERSECUTED AS ISRAEL

2 Thessalonians 1:4-6  "So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: 5. Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 6. Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;"

EVEN SO IT IS NOW

Galatians 4:28-30  "Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. 29. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. 30. Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman."

OFFENDING THE LITTLE ONES

Matthew 18:6  "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."
