Text: Romans 1:5  "By whom (Son of God) we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience [under + hear] to the faith among all nations [Gentiles], for his name:

“GRACE . . . FOR OBEDIENCE”

THE POWER OF CHRIST

2 Corinthians 12:9  "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient [enough to be content] for thee: for my strength is made perfect [perfected] in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

GRACE BY FAITH

Romans 5:2  "By whom [our high priest] also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God."

AT THE THRONE OF GRACE

Hebrews 4:15-16  "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

OBEDIENCE LEAD TO RIGHTEOUSNESS

Romans 6:16  "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey [under + hear], his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience [under + hear] unto [leading to] righteousness?"

"TO THE FAITH" -  better: “from faith

THINGS HOPED FOR

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence (obedience) of things not seen."

SEEK TO PLEASE HIM

Hebrews 11:6  But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: . . . he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek (evidence) him.”

Romans 1:17  “The just (obedience) shall live by faith.”

FOR THE OBEDIENCE OF FAITH

Romans 16:25-26  "Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world [ages] began, 26. But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations [Gentiles] for the obedience of [from] faith:"

"AMONG ALL NATIONS"

GENTILES

Colossians 1:25-27  "Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill [fully preach] the word of God; 26. Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints (not the lost nor saved sinners): 27. To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you (His Abba spirit), the hope (not sure) of glory:"

"FOR HIS NAME."

HIS NAME

Revelation 19:13   “. . . his name is called The Word of God.”

THE WORD OF GOD

Luke 8:11  "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God."  we find that the seed is the word of God.

THE SEED

Luke 8:10  "And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand."

OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD OF GOD

Luke 8:21  "And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it."

ROMANS 1:6

Romans 1:6  "Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:"

"AMONG WHOM"  -  neuter plural

AMONG OTHER GENTILES

Romans 1:5  ". . . for obedience to the faith among all nations [Gentiles, neuter plural], . . ."

"ALSO"

JEW FIRST AND ALSO GENTILES

Romans 1:16  "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek [Gentile]."

JEWS ONLY

Matthew 10:5-7  "These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand (mysteries of the kingdom)."

NOW GENTILES ARE CALLED

Romans 9:24  "Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?"

A HIDDEN MYSTERY

Ephesians 3:3-6  "How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4. Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5. Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6. That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his [the] promise in Christ by the gospel:"

"YE ARE CALLED"

MANY ARE CALLED

Matthew 22:14  "For many (not all saved) are called, but few (even less saved) are chosen."

SALVATION BEFORE CALLING

2 Timothy 1:9  "Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace,. . ."

CALLED BY PAUL’S GOSPEL

2 Thessalonians 2:14  "Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining [purchase, cost] of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."

IF WE SUFFER

Romans 8:17  "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

IF WE ENDURE

2 Timothy 2:12  "If we suffer [endure], we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:"

WHO ARE CALLING?

1 Corinthians 1:26-29  "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28. And [the] base things [unknown kindred] of the world, and things which are [the] despised, hath God chosen, yea, and [the] things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29. That no flesh should glory in his presence."

CALLED UNTO GLORY

1 Peter 5:10  "But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal [agelasting] glory by Christ Jesus..."

THE MAN OF GOD IS CALLED

1 Timothy 6:11-12  "But thou, O man of God, flee [present active imperative] these things; and follow [present active imperative, pursue] after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12. Fight [present active imperative] the good fight of faith, lay hold [active imperative] on eternal [agelasting] life (in the kingdom age), whereunto thou art also called, . ."
