Text: Romans 1:6  "Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:"

THE CALLED”

MANY CALLED

Matthew 22:14  "For many (not all) are called, but few (even less) are chosen."

SAVED BEFORE CALLED

2 Timothy 1:9  "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,"

ALL SINNERS

Romans 5:12  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

CHRIST DIED FOR ALL

2 Corinthians 5:14  "For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:"

TO BE SAVED

Acts 16:30-31  ". . .Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31. And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, . . ."

CALLED UNTO HIS KINGDOM

1 Thessalonians 2:12  "That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory."

  CALLED TO OBTAIN GLORY

2 Thessalonians 2:14  "Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."

 

CALLED TO AGELASTING LIFE

1 Timothy 6:11-12  "But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold [intensely seize] on eternal [agelasting] life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses."

THE MANY, ONE BODY IN CHRIST

Romans 12:5  "So we (Paul, beloved of God, called, saints in Rome: Rom. 1:7), being [the] many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another."

THE MANY

Romans 5:15  "But not as the offence, so also is the free [grace] gift [carisma]. For if through the offence of one [the] many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift [dwrea] by [by means of] grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto [the] many."

THE GIFT OF GOD

John 4:10  "Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift [dwrea] of God, and who it is that saith to the, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water."

AGELASTING LIFE

John 4:14  "But whosoever [the ones] drinketh [present active, drinking] of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into [leading to] everlasting life."

THE GIFT OF GOD

Romans 6:23  ". . . the gift [carisma] of God is eternal [agelasting] life [in the kingdom age] through Jesus Christ our Lord."

ARE ONLY THE MANY SINNERS? NO!

Romans 5:19  "For as by one man's disobedience [the] many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one [Christ] shall [the] many be made righteous [just]." (to live by faith)

OBEDIENCE OF ONE

Mark 14:34  "And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death [qanatov]: tarry ye here, and watch."

THANATOS DEATH

James 5:20  Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner (a brother) from the error of his way shall save a soul from death [qanatov], and shall hide [cover] a multitude of sins.

THE WILL OF THE FATHER

Mark 14:36  "And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt."

MORE THAN ONE DEATH

Isaiah 53:9  "And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death(s) (plural in Hebrew text). . . ."

TRAVAIL OF HIS SOUL

Isaiah 53:11  "He (God the Father) shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear [H5445 to carry G399 lxx] their iniquities."

BEAR THE CONSEQUENCES

Lamentations 5:7  "Our fathers have sinned, and are not (they are dead); and we (the children) have borne [H5445, bear (consequences of)] their iniquities." (70 years captivity)

 

 

BARE THE SIN OF MANY

Isaiah 53:12  ". . . he hath poured out (lxx, G3860, put in prison, to surrender) his soul unto death (lxx, G2288, qanatov): . . . and he bare [to carry] the sin of many, and made intercession (high priest) for the transgressors."

BEAR THE SINS OF MANY

Hebrews 9:28 (NASB)  "so Christ also, having been offered once to bear (G399, bear the consequences of) the sins of many, (to them, Christ) shall appear a second time for [leading to] salvation [through faith, A mms] (so great salvation of Hebrews 2:3) without reference to sin (blameless), to those (of the many) who eagerly await Him."

PAUL WAS ONE OF THOSE WAITING

2 Timothy 4:7-8  "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith (pleasing God, Heb. 11:6): 8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown (for the coming kingdom) of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love (eagerly await) his appearing."

CALLED TO AGELASTING GLORY

1 Peter 5:10  "But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal [agelasting] glory by Christ Jesus, . . ."

CALLING IN CHRIST

Philippians 3:14  "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

GAIN THE MANY

1 Corinthians 9:19  "For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more [many]."

LAWLESSNESS ABOUNDS

Matthew 24:12  "And because iniquity [lawlessness] shall abound, the love of [the] many shall wax cold."

OBEDIENCE LOST

John 14:21 "He that hath [esteem] my commandments, and keepeth [present active] them, he it is that loveth [present active] me: . . ."

LOST LOVE OF THE TRUTH

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12  "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish [present middle]; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved (so great salvation, Heb 2:3). 11. And for this cause God shall send them (that have been called) strong delusion, that they should believe a [the] lie (that all will obtain glory): 12. That they all might be damned [judged] who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness [unjust (being disobedient)]. . . "

CALLED TO LOVE THE TRUTH

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14  "But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation (so great salvation, Heb 2:3) through sanctification of the Spirit and belief [faith] of [from] the truth: 14. Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."
