“BELIEVETH”

BELIEVING CAN BE STOPPED

Luke 8:13  "They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe [present active indicative], and in time of temptation fall away."

BELIEVE CAN NOT BE STOPPED

John 8:30  "As he spake these words, many believed [aorist active] on him."

BELIEVE, AORIST TENSE

Acts 16:30-31  "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31. And they said, Believe [aorist active (an event)] on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved (an event), and thy house."

BELIEVE AND LOVE ARE ABSTRACT

1 John 3:23  "And this is his [the] commandment [singular], That we should believe [present active] on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love [present active] one another, as he gave us commandment."

LOVE IS DEMONSTRATED

1 John 3:18  "My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth."

THE COMMANDMENT

1 John 4:21-5:21  "And this [the] commandment [singular] have we from him, That he who loveth [present active participle] God love [present active subjunctive] his brother also. 5:1 Whosoever believeth [present active participle] that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth [present active participle] him (God) that begat (unto a living hope) loveth him (his brother) also that is begotten of him (God)."

THE IS LOVE

2 John 1:6  "And this is love, that we walk [present active] after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk [present active] in it."

LOVE RESPONDS

FOR THE ONES BEING SAVED

1 Corinthians 1:18  "For the preaching of the (daily) cross is to them that perish [present middle participle] foolishness; but unto us which are saved [present passive participle] it is the power of God."

THE DAILY CROSS

Luke 9:23  "And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

THE WORK OF GOD

John 6:29  "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe [present active] on him whom he hath sent."

THE ONES BELIEVING

Matthew 18:3  "And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."

Matthew 18:6  "But whoso shall offend (stop believing) one of these little ones (little children) which believe [present active participle] in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."

NEVER THIRST

John 6:35  "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth [present active participle] on me shall never thirst."

BECAUSE YOU CAN QUIT BELIEVING

John 6:40  "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth [present active participle] on him, may have everlasting [agelasting] life: and I will raise him up at the last day."

THE BELIEVING ESTEEM KINGDOM LIFE

ABBA SPIRIT FOR THE ONE BELIEVING

(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe [present active participle] on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost [spirit] was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)"

SHEEP BELIEVE

John 10:26-28  "But ye believe [present active indicative] not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27. My sheep hear [present active] my voice, and I know [present active] them, and they follow [present active] me: 28. And I give [present active] unto them eternal [agelasting] life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."

WRITTEN THAT YE MIGHT BELIEVE

John 20:31  "But these are written, that ye might believe [present active subjunctive] that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing [present active] ye might (or might not if you stop believing) have life (agelasting life) through his name."

THE BELIEVING ARE BEING JUSTIFIED

Acts 13:39  "And by him all that believe [present active participle] are justified [present passive] from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."

FAITH AND BELIEVE ARE EQUAL

AGAIN, FAITH AND BELIEVE THE SAME

Romans 4:5  "But to him that worketh not, but believeth [present active participle] on him that justifieth [present active participle] the ungodly, his faith (believing in the present tense) is counted for righteousness."

FAITH THE SAME AS BELIEVE

Romans 4:11  "And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe [present active], though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:"

THE BELIEVING ABOUND IN HOPE

ON THE BEHALF OF CHRIST

THE WORD OF GOD AND THOSE WHO BELIEVE

1 Thessalonians 2:12-13  "That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. 13. For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh [present middle] also in you that believe [present active participle]."

THE END OF OUR BELIEVING

1 Peter 1:8-9  "Whom having not seen, ye love [present active]; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing [present active participle], ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9. Receiving the end of your faith (believing in the present tense), even the salvation (of Romans 1:16) of your souls."
