Text:  Romans 5:8-9  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

GOD’S LOVE TOWARD US

Romans 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

US, THE BELOVED

Romans 1:7  To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

THOSE WHO LOVE THE LORD

John 16:27  For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

CONDITIONAL LOVE

John 16:27  For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

LOVE OF THE FATHER

John 14:21  He that hath [ecw, present tense, regardeth] my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

THE LOVE OF THE FATHER

John 14:23  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

GOD OUR FATHER LOVE US

2 Thessalonians 2:16  Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting [agelasting] consolation [exhortation] and good hope through grace [the power of Christ],

CHRIST DIED FOR US

Romans 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

JESUS DIED

John 19:30  When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

CHRIST DIED FOR ALL

2 Corinthians 5:14  For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

MUCH MORE

Romans 5:9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

AFTER HIS DEATH

John 19:33-34  But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:  34  But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

JUSTIFIED

Romans 8:33  Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

CLEANSING

1 John 1:7,9  But if we walk [present active] in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth [present active] us from all sin.

9  If we confess [present active] our sins, he is [present active] faithful and just to forgive [aorist] us our sins, and to cleanse [aorist] us from all unrighteousness.

FLEE THE WRATH OF GOD

Matthew 3:6-8  And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.  7  But when he saw many . . ., he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?  8  Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

ESTEEM AGELASTING LIFE

John 3:36  He that believeth [present active] on the Son (not the Lord Jesus) hath [ecw, regardeth] everlasting [agelasting] (kingdom) life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

THE WRATH OF GOD

Colossians 3:5-6  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:  6  For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children [sons] of disobedience:

REWARDED ACCORDING TO DEEDS

Romans 2:6-11  Who will render to every man according to his deeds:  7  To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality [incorruption], eternal life:  8  But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,  9  Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;  10  But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:  11  For there is no respect of persons with God.

NOT APPOINTED US TO WRATH

1 Thessalonians 5:6-10  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.  7  For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.  8  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.  9  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,  10  Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

OBTAIN SALVATION

2 Timothy 2:10  Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

TYPE OF GOD’S WRATH

Hebrews 3:10-13  Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.  11  So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)  12  Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.  13  But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

THE WRATH TO COME

1 Thessalonians 1:10  And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered [present middle] us from the wrath to come.

FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION

Romans 4:25  Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

US

1 Thessalonians 1:2-4  We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;  3  Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;  4  Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
