ROMANS 8:9

Sunday Morning: March 12, 2006

Text:Romans 8:5-9For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

SPIRIT SENT BY GOD

TO DO AND FINISH GODíS WILL

John 4:34Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

HAVE NOT THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST

Romans 8:9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have [ecw, present active, actively have] not [ou, emphatic] the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

JUDAS WAS NONE OF HIS

John 17:12While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost [aorist middle, perish for himself], but [ei mh, except] (Judas) the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

JUDAS WAS A THIEF

John 12:6This he [Judas] said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had [present active ecw, esteemed] the bag (of money), and bare what was put therein.

HE IS NONE OF HIS

I AM OF . . .

1 Corinthians 1:12Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ [genitive case].

Hebrews 2:16. .he took [took hold] on him the seed of Abraham.

ABRAHAMíS SEED IS ANOINTED

Galatians 3:16-19Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy [Abrahamís] seed, which is Christ [noun, anointed].17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise (agelasting kingdom life) of none effect.18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

TO THE BRETHREN, THE CHURCH

SO GREAT SALVATION

Hebrews 2:3How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

REVEALED SALVATION

1 Peter 1:10-12Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:11Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of [eiv, for] Christ, and the glory that should follow.12Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported [rehearsed] unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you..

THE MYSTERY OF CHRIST REVEALED

Ephesians 3:3-5How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,4Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)5Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

EXAMINE YOURSELVES
