ROMANS 8:10

Sunday Morning: April 2, 2006

Text:Romans 8:10-11And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you

STIR YOU UP

2 Peter 1:11-13For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting [agelasting] kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.12Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.13Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

IF CHRIST BE IN YOU

THE MIND OF CHRIST

Philippians 2:5-9Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name

A LIVING HOPE

1 Peter 1:3-5Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,4To [for] an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,5Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST

ALIVE BECAUSE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Romans 8:10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS

1 John 2:28-29And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.29If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth [present active, practices] righteousness is born of him.

THIS HOPE IN HIM

1 John 3:2-3Beloved, now are we the sons [children] of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

EVIDENCE OF THE HOPE

2 Timothy 4:7-8I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

LOOK TO YOURSELVES

2 John 1:8Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

IN THE FAITH
